The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reported this Thursday, December 11, that she had a telephone contact with the Executive Secretary of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Arsenio Domínguez, to denounce the violation of freedom of navigation in the Caribbean by the United States.

Rodríguez, on the social media accounts of the Vice Presidency of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, emphasized that “there are international agreements that protect freedom of navigation in the face of illegal acts that threaten it, such as the assault on an oil tanker loaded with Venezuelan crude oil.”

In this regard, during the inauguration of the 6th La Guaira Emprend Fair, he denounced that “it is very well detailed that this becomes an international illegal act”.

The vice-president affirmed that Venezuela is doing what must be done: “Appeal to law, to international legality and to defend its natural resources,” she stressed.

In addition, in statements to Venezolana de Televisión, Rodríguez argued that the theft of the Venezuelan oil tanker by the United States government “reveals the true intentions of the current U.S. administration.”

He asserted that this incident shows, once again, that the only interest of the governments of that nation is Venezuelan oil and that, in addition, they want to obtain it without making any payment.
