Vice President Rodríguez: Our peasants are at the forefront in the defense of the Homeland

This Saturday, August 30, the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, emphasized that today peasants remain at the forefront in the defense of the Homeland, responding to President Nicolás Maduro's call for military enlistment.

“Here are our peasants closing ranks in the vanguard for the defense of Venezuela (...) you are the tillers of the land, you who bring food to the homes of Venezuelans and Venezuelan women, you have the greatest responsibility to guarantee the security and food sovereignty of an entire people and if the imperialist's insolent plant dares to attack Venezuela, here you are at the forefront to guarantee the food of the people in combat and in struggle,” he said during the Mobilization in rejection of imperial threats in Carabobo.

He emphasized that today all the people of Venezuela are mobilized in the face of the farce that North American imperialism seeks to mount against our country, in which they seek to defame us as a “narco-terrorist” . “

“They are tremendous fakers and immoral in trying to accuse the noble people of Bolivar and Chávez of drug traffickers; you know that Venezuela is a people of peace, it is a people of hope, not only for our country, but also for the peoples of the world,” he said.

For this reason, he affirmed that in the face of the threats and lies of North American imperialism, the peasants, as fighting bodies, today confirm their commitment to the Fatherland and declare that they are ready to carry out the strategic tasks that correspond to them.

“The peasants are ready to guarantee food, but also to be impregnable in the security and freedom of Venezuela,” he said.
