Vuelta a Venezuela 2024 will be held in honor of Daniela Larreal

The 61st Vuelta a Venezuela will take place from October 6 to 13, in honor of the cyclist Daniela Larreal. With the presence of 14 teams, including four international countries, this tournament is expected to be one of the most exciting in recent years.

The Minister of Popular Power for Sports, Arnaldo Sánchez, and the president of the Venezuelan Cycling Federation (FVC), Eliezer Rojas, reported that the tour will cover more than 1000 kilometers in five Venezuelan states: Mérida, Trujillo, Lara, Yaracuy, Carabobo and the Capital District.

However, he thanked President Nicolás Maduro for all the support in promoting this return. He also said that cyclists who will participate in the Tour of Venezuela will have to overcome challenging mountain stages, individual time trials and urban routes.

In addition to the national teams, the Vuelta will be attended by renowned international teams such as Team Medellín, Team Saitel, Team Gesprom and Team JB Arroz Zulia Colombi a. This guarantees a high competitive level and a first-rate show for fans.

Intense route

For its part, the first stage will begin in the state of Mérida, and will pass through Lagunillas, Santa Cruz de Mora and then 130 kilometers and will end in Mérida; the second day will have 180 kilometers from Santa Elena de Arenales in Mérida and to Valera, Trujillo state.

Thus, in Lara State, the thrill of the third day will be a 150 kilometer course that will end in Carora; the fourth stage will be a 40 kilometer time trial starting in El Tocuyo.

The fifth stage will conclude in Quibor and Yaracuy, with a difficult climb to the ruins of El Castillo de San Vicente. In the sixth stage, a 120 kilometer circuit will be run in San Felipe.

In Valencia, the penultimate stage will take place, while in Caracas the lap will conclude with courses of 160 and 120 kilometers; the finish line will be at the Teo Capriles Velodrome with a tribute to Daniela Larreal.

It is important to note that the Vuelta a Venezuela is part of the International Cycling Union calendar and the UCI America Tour Calendar.
