The Deputy Minister of Anti-Blockade Policies, William Castillo, highlighted during an interview on Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) that a total of 1,401 unilateral coercive measures by the United States (USA) against Venezuela are still in force today.

One of the most important is the ban on the sale of technology, the Foreign Enemies Act, tariffs of 25% on companies that buy oil from the country and a 15% tariff on imports of products from Venezuelan territory.

“The unilateral coercive measures of the United States continue to be maintained and we are going for 1,401. We are gradually incorporating these measures because it is a technical analysis. However, the country is and will be better and better,” he said.

The deputy minister explained that the US government of Donald Trump renewed a license that prohibits the trading of Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) bonds, which are tied as collateral to the debts of Cities Service Company (CITGO).

“Bonds cannot be sold until authorized by the U.S. government. It is an agony that spreads; the threat continues and the extreme right continues to make money there, without being accountable to anyone. Juan Guaidó's CITGO exists, works and manages the company, that must be said,” he added

In this regard, Castillo stated that legally licenses are part of the U.S. sanctioning system against sovereign nations, because they extend economic aggression and manage pain.
