The Venezuelan mask William Contreras continues to be something to talk about in the big leagues after adding his sixth consecutive game hitting with the Milwaukee Brewers.

The receiver from Carabobeño shone this Wednesday in the 5-0 shutout that sealed the series against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, after hitting three hits in four rounds, with a run scored, a passport, a strikeout and his first base stolen since August 16, 2025, according to Ultime News.

Contreras has a solid average of .370, the product of 10 hits in 27 at-bats. So far in May, the Venezuelan is batting for .304 with seven runs produced.

The Venezuelan is showing superior selectivity at the plate and has the lowest strikeout rate of his career with just 11.2%, a key factor in ensuring his long-term consistency.

Contreras shares the lead in assists in all of baseball for a receiver with a total of 20, tied with Shea Langeliers; in addition, he commands his colleagues in the league in outs made with 378 and in runners caught in attempted robbery with 13.

The Puerto Cabello mask has an impressive 52.2% success in shooting at the base, which means that it has removed more than half of the runners who have been robbed (12 out of 23).
