Yaracuy held the 4th Local History Congress

Researchers from the state of Yaracuy participated in the 4th Local History Congress, where they presented their contributions to the construction of collective memory in this entity in the central-western part of the country.
According to information from the Ministry for Culture, the meeting took place at the “Víctor Manuel Giménez Landinez” House of Culture in the Urachiche municipality, with the participation of 20 delegates from both that jurisdiction and the municipalities of Bruzual, Páez and San Felipe.
The participants, who belong to sociocultural organizations, universities, basic and general secondary education centers, among other institutions, presented papers based on the lines of research established for this type of congress, such as local history, chronicles and heritage, among others of collective interest.
During the day, the presentation by Professor Erasmo Arturo Cordero stood out, who proposed to make a written report of the exhibitions presented to publish a book with all the topics of the conference.
For her part, the mayor of the Urachiche municipality, Lisbed Carolina Paradas, who participated in the opening of the congress, stressed the importance of this type of meeting that seeks to strengthen the historical memory of the Peoples.
The meeting also included a llanera cantata, in the voices of two young vocalists from the town, accompanied by maestro Julio Travieso.
