1,444 teams from 66 educational institutions, distributed in nine states of the country, began the qualifying tests for the Hydrocarbon Olympics this Tuesday, according to information released by the Ministry of People's Power for Education on its official Telegram channel.

The conference brings together high school students who are studying strategic courses related to the energy area. The purpose is to strengthen the study of the hydrocarbon value chain, with an emphasis on oil and natural gas, sectors fundamental to national development.

The tests cover exploration, production, refining, petrochemical and marketing content, as well as notions of energy geopolitics and sovereign use of natural resources. The activity is carried out in technical institutions and productive high schools where young people are trained in oil, natural gas, industrial chemistry and related areas.
