1st Southeastern Meeting of Oral Storytelling honored the legacy of Achiles Nazoa

Ciudad Bolívar hosted the
1st Southeastern Meeting of Oral Narration, held as part of the national
celebration for the birth of the Venezuelan poet and comedian Achiles Nazoa, as part of the Community Route dedicated to the renowned writer.
The
activity brought together oral narrators, cultors and storytellers from
six states of the country, who shared stories inspired by the work and
legacy of the so-called “Nightingale of Catuche”, highlighting his social sensitivity and his contribution to Venezuelan popular culture.
The opening
day, called “La Contada Comunera”, took place on
May 16 in the urban planning of El Gigante, Vista Hermosa parish, where communities
enjoyed artistic activities aimed at strengthening historical memory
through stories, legends and traditional expressions of the region.
The
closing of the meeting coincided with the birth of Nazoa and took place in the Rómulo Gallegos
Library, a space where attendees evoked the writer
's work between tenths and cultural presentations. In addition, during the activity, literary teacher Eucario García was
also honored for his career
and contribution to Venezuelan literature.
The event was jointly organized by the People's Power, the Secretariat of Culture of the Government of Bolivar, the Ministry for Culture, the Cultural Mission Foundation and the Mayor's Office of the Angostura del Orinoco municipality, with the objective of promoting cultural identity and turning communal spaces into scenarios for peace and artistic creation.
