700 tons of humanitarian aid arrive from Mexico at the International Port of La Guaira

Authorities from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela received 700 tons of humanitarian aid from Mexico this Monday at the International Port of La Guaira, managed by Bolivariana de Puertos (BOLIPORTS), to continue caring for victims and areas affected by the double earthquake of last June 24.

Emergency equipment, medical supplies, food and essential items were unloaded from the ARM amphibious vessel “Papaloapan” (A-411) and the multipurpose auxiliary and logistical support vessel ARM “Huasteco”.

The materials include large tents for temporary care and housing, 3,000 and 1,000 watt gasoline power generators, sleeping bags and body bags.

The assistance also includes 10 prefabricated wooden houses, mattresses, various medications and wheelchairs, as well as tools for emergency work, such as shovels and picks.

In terms of food and supply, the shipment incorporated cereal, bottled water, electrolyte drinks, pantries and protein drinks. In addition to these supplies, personal hygiene items and toilet paper are added.
