This first of May, the first vaccination cycle for cattle and buffalo against foot-and-mouth disease began throughout the country, announced the Minister of Agriculture and Lands, Vladimir Padrino López.
Through a message published through his Telegram channel, Padrino highlighted that this day, which will run until June 15, is one of the protocols established to obtain international certification of the country free of this disease before the World Organization for Animal Health (WHO).
“I must stress that Venezuela has not registered outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease since 2013; however, sanctions and the isolationist political bias against our nation have limited the achievement of this certification process. Enough now!” , Padrino highlighted.
In the same way, Padrino also called on all producers in the country to participate in the 2026 Livestock Characterization.
