A total of 494 voting centers will be activated in Zulia for elections of justices of the peace

The state of Zulia will have 494 voting centers for the elections of justices of the peace scheduled for December 15 and where 47,000 men and women will be elected throughout the country to mediate conflicts in their communal territories, prepared and protected by the Supreme Court.

The regional director of the National Electoral Council in Zulia (CNE), Mariana Medina, said, in statements offered to the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), that the electoral schedule is being carried out normally, following meetings with the regional electoral commission, which is composed of the Ministry of the Communes, the Judiciary and the National Assembly, as well as the nominations for candidacies for judge and judge of the communal peace.

He said that in addition to these instances, cooperation entities that participate in the entire organization of the electoral process, such as the Ministry for Education, have been deployed in the 21 municipalities. The CEOFANB, Movilnet and the CNE, to carry out what is the cadastre of voting centers, where the electoral body will appoint a coordinator in each of these, who will be responsible for their review and adaptation and, on the day of the event, to report on the development of the same.

In the Zulian entity, more than 3,400 justices of the peace will be elected, from among principals and alternates, in the 576 communal electoral circuits, formed in the 21 municipalities of the Zulian entity.

“With the election of justices of the peace, we, the Venezuelan people, are going to demonstrate the democratic strength that our country has, in the search for conciliation, peace, calling on the people to choose without political distinction in this new democratic exercise,” said Larry Sibada, the spokesman for the Executive Council of the Flor Montiel Commune of Maracaibo.
