Academia Puerto Cabello beat Monagas SC on penalties and made it to the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana 2026.
The result that took place at the Misael Delgado stadium in Valencia, ended 0-0 while in the penalty shootout the Carabobeño team won 5-3.
The winning goals were courtesy of Edwuin Pernía, Harrison Contreras, José Hernández Chavez, Giovanni Bamba and Jean Castillo. While Felipe Jaramillo, Joyce Rios and Fernando Basante scored for the Guerreros Chaimas.
This will be the third time that Academia Puerto Cabello has participated in the CONMEBOL Copa Sudamericana Group Stage.
