The president in charge Delcy Rodríguez visited this Saturday the Mobile Hospital installed by the Government of Qatar in Caracas, a health infrastructure deployed to care for people affected by the earthquakes of June 24.
The facility is part of the international support that reinforces the medical response in temporary camps and in areas with the greatest impact.
During the tour, the president in charge verified the operability of the emergency, observation and consultation areas, as well as the joint work between Qatari specialists and Venezuelan personnel.
The hospital can handle up to 320 people per day, an emergency room with 50 observation beds, a waiting room, a medicine warehouse, a pharmacy, a basic support ambulance and two transport vehicles for rescue operations. The health team is made up of 27 specialists from the State of Qatar, including four surgeons, an ophthalmologist, five general practitioners and 17 paramedics, working with Venezuelan professionals.
In his statement, Rodríguez expressed a message of recognition for the support received:
“I want to personally thank the Emir of Qatar for this gesture and for the support they are providing to Venezuela at this time. This hospital joins the 13 field hospitals installed in different countries, which support temporary camps to ensure follow-up and health care. Here we treat chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, cancer patients and people who require dialysis. Every camp has health care and these hospitals reinforce the response to earthquake victims. My gratitude is eternal. Venezuela will never forget what the international community has done during these difficult times for our people.”
The president in charge stressed that these facilities ensure continuity of medical care for families who lost homes or face vulnerable conditions, and reiterated that international deployment has been a “helping hand” in the midst of the emergency.
