The LXX edition of the Agricultural Fair organized by the Association of Cattle Farmers of the State of Táchira (ASOGATA), made history by breaking three records for milk production and registering massive attendance during the 15 days of activity in the “Don Jorge Villamizar” exhibition park.
The event, framed in the 70th anniversary of the livestock fair, brought together 64 livestock farms and 550 animals, consolidating itself as the most important genetic showcase in Latin America today.
The event's coordinator, Hugo Colmenares, said that the success of the dairy tournament and the quality of the specimens on the track exceeded all technical expectations for the harvest.
During the competition, production units that set the tone stood out, such as Hacienda San José, which was crowned the best breeder and exhibitor, winning 27 awards with just 30 copies presented.
The La Carolina Recreation Center stood out as a leader in the Brahman breed. While Genetics JE won the highest award in the Guzerat category.
Colmenares noted that the public's interaction with the field was total. “Early on, families came in to get to know the animals up close. ASOGATA continues to be the meeting point par excellence of the San Sebastian International Fair,” he said.
Due to the high organizational level and the quality of the sample, the Cebu Cattle Breeders Association (ASOCEBÚ) officially granted ASOGATA the venue for the Cebu National Fair 2027, positioning Táchira as the central axis of Venezuelan livestock for the coming year.
