This Wednesday, the Executive Secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America — Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), Rander Peña held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba, Lázaro Artola, to address various issues.

Following Deputy Minister Peña's meeting with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, both authorities addressed key issues related to regional challenges and the need to strengthen ties between member countries of ALBA-TCP.

The Cuban president stressed that the defense of unity and respect for the self-determination of peoples are strategic priorities of the regional bloc, especially in a context marked by increased aggression by imperialist forces and attempts to fracture Latin American integration.

The meetings represent a new step in strengthening the mechanism for political consultation and regional cooperation, focused on promoting integral development with social justice for the nations that make up ALBA.
