The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, congratulated the grandparents of the Fatherland this Thursday in the celebration of the International Day of the Elderly.
“We are a country that rests on memory, on learning, on the wisdom of our older adults. And I wanted to give them a hug today, and they are always in our hearts,” said the president during the inauguration of a Comprehensive Care Center for more than 400 grandparents, in the parish of La Vega in Caracas.
He stressed that the Venezuelan State is always “seeing how to support, how to help, because we know that our grandparents, that our grandmothers have been the most impacted by the economic blockade. And today we want that Venezuela that is rising up, that Venezuela that seeks its own development for its social happiness, to also embrace our older adults.”
In this regard, he expressed his happiness at the inauguration of the Grandparents' House, “because here we bring nutrition, we bring productive sectors, there are textile mills, we bring spaces for recreation, for them to play dominoes, chess, bingo, for them to dance, so that they have all the spaces”.
