The member States of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP) issued a statement expressing their deep concern at the current escalation of violence in the Middle East.

The statement was published by the Executive Secretary of ALBA-TCP, Jorge Arreaza, through his account on the social network X, in which he emphasized that “we once again condemn the genocide perpetrated by # Israel in # Gaza, and we reiterate the call to the Security Council of the #ONU to achieve a ceasefire”.

“The impunity with which Israel acts and the inaction of the Security Council, which remains silent in the face of the illegal attack on the Iranian Consulate in Damascus, have created a serious risk of regionalization of the conflict with unpredictable consequences,” the statement said.

Arreaza stressed the need for quick and decisive action, calling on the international community not to remain on the sidelines while the violence continues.

The statement also calls on the international community to come together and work toward a peaceful solution.
