Amazonian health authorities develop National Measles Alert Forum in the Americas 2026

The multipurpose room of the State Department of Health of Amazonas became the epicenter of scientific prevention with the holding of the National Measles Alert Forum in the Americas 2026.

The training meeting, organized by the Directorate of Research and Education under the coordination of José García, was aimed directly at doctors, nurses and students in the sector, with the firm purpose of updating and strengthening the response capacities of the human talent that lives in health care centers throughout the entity, details a press release from local media.

During the intense training day, core strategies were addressed, such as strict epidemiological surveillance, the early detection of symptoms, the promotion of vaccination as the main barrier and the necessary coordination between the National Public Health System and popular power.

The presentations were given by senior authorities in the area, including the state's director of Epidemiology, Felipe Turón, the coordinator of the Expanded Immunization Program, Belkys Payema, and the coordinator of Barrio Adentro, José Cavi. This initiative was implemented under the guidelines of the Ministry for Health and the region's Single Authority, Joskany La Rosa, consolidating a continuous plan that protects the collective well-being and health sovereignty of the Amazonian people.
