AN approved in the second discussion the Law for the Promotion and Promotion of Cocoa in the second discussion

The deputies of the National Assembly (AN), during the regular session this Thursday, approved in the second discussion the Bill for the Promotion and Promotion of Cocoa, to boost the production of the sector.

According to Venezolana de Televisión, the points contemplated by this legal instrument include the promotion of a social protection policy aimed at women, peasant sectors, indigenous peoples, agro-producers and Afro-descendant peoples associated with cacao agriculture.

It also attributes responsibility to the National Executive for approving a sectoral plan for the consolidation of the development of cacao activity, with the co-responsible participation of the actors linked to the cocoa value chain.

In addition, the initiative covers topics such as technical assistance, scientific and technological research, financing, productive infrastructure, agricultural roads, public services, export promotion, popular and family economy, small and medium-sized enterprises, artisanal and industrial cocoa processing, or optimization, simplification and speed of procedures.

In addition, the legal text ratifies other points such as the establishment of a governing body to promote scientific and technological training in the cocoa sectors, in order to promote efficiency, productivity and care for the environment, human health and the strengthening of the value chain of the agricultural sector.
