AN authorized appointment of ambassadors to Spain, Serbia, Angola and Equatorial Guinea

This Tuesday, April 16, the National Assembly (AN) authorized the appointment of ambassadors to Spain, the Republic of Serbia, Angola and Equatorial Guinea.

At the regular session held at the Federal Legislative Palace (PFL), the Plenary approved the appointments of Gladys Gutiérrez, to the Kingdom of Spain; Jaidys Briceño, in the Republic of Serbia; Belén Orsini in Angola and Ana Margarita Pino in Equatorial Guinea.

In this regard, the deputy Victoria Mata, when presenting the credentials of the new ambassador of Spain, Gladys Gutiérrez, highlighted her career as a diplomat, teacher and researcher and her performance in Venezuelan public administration before the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), in 2013 and 2022, Attorney General of the Republic from 2006 to 2011 and rector of the National Electoral Council (CNE) in the year 2020, reported the AN in a note from press published on its website.

She pointed out that Gutiérrez Alvarado is a constitutionalist lawyer, with doctorates from universities in Madrid and Spain, which accredit her in European institutions. In 2003 she was ambassador and minister counselor to the Kingdom of Spain, consul in Madrid and representative to the Court of The Hague in 2021.

Regarding the work plan presented by the ambassador, it will be aimed at supporting the electoral process of July 28, Venezuelan sovereignty over the Essequibo, relations with political organizations, the development of a multilateral agenda, cultural diplomacy and solidarity, among other tasks.

For her part, the deputy Ruddy Rodríguez, was in charge of presenting the profile of Jaidys Briceño, who will undertake her diplomatic mission in Serbia, with the participation of the Republic of Bulgaria, Montenegro and North Macedonia.

He pointed out that Ambassador Briceño is a career diplomat and served in Cuba in 1999, as well as being a consul in Houston, Texas, highlighting the representation of Venezuela in the crusades for peace diplomacy.

Referring to the work agenda in these countries, the ambassador proposed a statue of Nikola Tesla in Ezequiel Zamora Park in Caracas, and a statue of the Liberator Simon Bolivar in Los Pioneros Park in Serbia.

It is also planned to reactivate air service with Serbia, educational and commercial agreements with these countries and other nations in Europe.

In addition, the representative of the Permanent Committee on Foreign Policy, Sovereignty and Integration, deputy Azusena Jaspe, announced the report and the management that Belén Orsini will undertake in the Republic of Angola.

She indicated that the diplomat has a master's degree in Foreign Policy and comes from serving as ambassador to the Government of Benin, with participation in Nigeria and the Republic of Tongolesa.

He added that Orsini was also the diplomatic representation of Venezuela before the International Cocoa Organization and has a very high experience in diplomatic work since the vice-ministry for Africa.

Jaspe stressed that the nation continues to strengthen and deepen its relations with Mother Africa. With this designation, he said, it will be guaranteed to bring the truth of Venezuela to the world.

He explained that currently Venezuela has relations with the African Continent through 55 countries, with the presence of 19 diplomatic delegations in this territory.

Deputy Vanessa Montero presented the appointment of Ana Margarita Pino Pasquier, as Venezuelan ambassador to Equatorial Guinea, concurrent to the Republics of Cameroon and Gabonesa.

She stressed that the diplomat will continue to consolidate agreements in matters of energy, tourism, culture and, above all, agreements in educational matters, thus training the youth of those nations in the area of health.

He reported that Pino Pasquier graduated from the Central University of Venezuela with a degree in International Studies.

He reiterated that the country will continue to strengthen, with the international politics of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, Bolivarian peace diplomacy and the multiple international agreements it has with Mother Africa.
