AN authorized appointment of Martha Gabriela Ortega as Venezuelan ambassador to Barbados

The National Assembly (AN) approved this Tuesday by qualified majority the appointment of citizen Martha Gabriela Ortega Peraza as extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Barbados.
“Secretary citizen, please inform the Ministry of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela of the authorization for the appointment,” said the President of the Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, after the vote.
Before her promotion to ambassador, Ortega Peraza served in the same Caribbean country as Minister Counselor in Committee and Chargé d'Affaires Ad Interim, a position to which she was appointed in December 2021. During this period, he coordinated mutual cooperation agendas and cultural events on the island.
