The Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, during his speech at the X Extraordinary Summit of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), condemned the coup attempt carried out by the right wing in the Plurinational State of Bolivia.

In this regard, he expressed his full support for the adopted Declaration, condemning inappropriate military actions in the highland country, while reiterating his country's disagreement with any attempt to seize power by non-democratic means.

In this regard, he reiterated to the President of Bolivia, Luis Arce, his continuous support and called on the Bolivian people to face these “mafia acts and to defend democracy”.

In addition, he highlighted Antigua and Barbuda's commitment to the principles of ALBA-TCP, such as solidarity, cooperation, respect for countries' sovereignty and the protection of democratic traditions.

Finally, the Prime Minister took the opportunity to express his solidarity with Saint Vincent and Grenada for the lives lost and the damage caused by the passage of Hurricane Beryl.
