The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, granted recognition this Monday to the delegation of national athletes who participated in the XIII South American Santa Fe Games 2026, in Argentina.
Venezuelan athletes wrote a golden page during the competition, after winning 48 gold, 43 silver and 55 bronze medals to account for 146 total medals, placing the country in fifth place in the medal table, just one gold short of Chile's representation.
“I am very happy to be here because I know the emotion that an athlete, an athlete, feels when they cross borders and wears our Tricolor,” said the president from the Miraflores Palace.
Rodríguez highlighted that the Venezuelan delegation broke several records and “we have athletes who won three, four gold medals. I know the thrill when you paint those medals on your neck. And 48 times our national anthem sounded, the glorious song of Venezuelans and Venezuelan women, it sounded on the first podium, champions, champions with their gold medals,” he celebrated.
