The President of the association of livestock producers of the Achaguas municipality. in Apure, Eloisa Contreras, during a meeting with the president of the National Assembly (AN), deputy Jorge Rodríguez, as part of the National Pilgrimage, joined the request for the cessation of sanctions against the Venezuelan economy, while presenting some of the main needs of the local productive sectors.
“The resistance of the Apureño producer has been historic and in Achaguas, freedom for Venezuela and food for Venezuelans were born in the darkest moments (of sanctions and blockade), here where the plains are lost in immensity, we don't just raise cattle, here we help to sustain the country's food security,” said Contreras.
Cattle farmers and farmers from Apure state emphasized that, despite the challenges imposed by unilateral coercive measures, they have worked tirelessly to supply the table of the Venezuelan people, thus guaranteeing the nation's food sovereignty.
“Here we are producing,” emphasized the producers of the llanera region, reaffirming their commitment to continue promoting agricultural work and strengthening the national economy.
Contreras pointed out the need to be able to count on credit support to improve production processes and to have medium and long deadlines for cancellation. He also requested the rehabilitation of the highway in the Achaguas municipality, which has affected costs for producers and guarantees security in these territories where there are criminal groups that stalk herds, threaten and extort ranchers.
