Aragua: Bolivarian Government deploys cleaning day after heavy rains in Las Tejerías

With the objective of carrying out sediment removal and cleaning tasks in the municipality of Las Tejerías, in the state of Aragua, after the heavy rains that occurred last Sunday night, the mayor's office of the Santos Michelena municipality activated more than 120 Public Services and Civil Protection workers.

The local president, Régulo La Cruz, commented that as a result of Tropical Wave number 34 that affected the center of the country, around 16 homes were flooded in the town, while flooding occurred in rooms in sectors such as Curiepe, Tiara, Lomas de Níquel, Casco Central de Las Tejerías and El Baseball.

“There were some fallen trees, accumulation of sediment and mud; however, we were immediately activated with officials from the Civil Protection, Aragua Police and Bolivarian National Police, who carried out the respective inspections and now we deploy more than 120 workers to remove sediments and clean the different communities, as well as the Pan-American Highway,” said La Cruz.

In the same way, she reported that the work has been carried out in an articulated manner with the regional Government and the People's Power, since the governor, Joana Sánchez, provided the heavy machinery such as a mini shower, payloder and backhoe that has been used in cleaning tasks; while the heads of community, UBCH, street and members of the communal councils have joined the planning and coordination of actions in the different sectors of the municipality.
