With the objective of strengthening the
safeguarding, recognition and protection of the country's material and
intangible heritage, the 1st Regional Forum on Cultural Heritage Viva Venezuela mi
Patria Querida will take place in the
state of Aragua from March 10 to 14.
The day began this Tuesday at 9:00 in
the morning at the Casa de la Cultura de Ocumare de la Costa, in the
Costa de Oro municipality, under the slogan “Cultural Heritage from Miranda to the Communes”,
as part of the activities promoted by the Great Mission Viva Venezuela.
According to information from the Ministry
for Culture, these meetings, open to the general public and
especially to cultivators, researchers and culture lovers, seek
to value the country's traditions and cultural expressions.
In addition, the activity seeks to promote the debate on the use of heritage as an engine for the development of sustainable tourism and the local and community economy.
In addition,
the recognition of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, represented in
manifestations such as music, dances, literary creation, cinema,
painting and crafts, as well as the importance of preserving
material heritage such as historic buildings and structures, will also be addressed.
The days also include debates on teaching heritage in schools and communities, as well as discussions on legal frameworks for the protection of cultural property and the fight against illegal trafficking in heritage.
