Aragua was crowned champion of the National Speed Skating Championship

The state of Aragua became the absolute champion of the Valid National Speed Skating Championship, after becoming the most winning delegation of the event held at the Carlos Anzola Velodrome, in Maracay.

The competition, held on Friday, Saturday, February 28 and Sunday, March 1, 2026, brought together 503 athletes from 14 states of the country, Apure, Aragua, Barinas, Cojedes, Capital District, Guárico, La Guaira, Lara, Miranda, Portuguesa, Táchira, Yaracuy, Carabobo and Zulia.

The event combined high performance with sports initiation, with the participation of 37 clubs in the lower category, reaffirming the commitment to the massification of speed skating in the country and guaranteeing the generational replacement of the discipline, details a press release from the Regional Sports Institute of Aragua (IRDA).

The valid one was attended by Aragüeño athletes with international experience, raising the competitive level of the championship, José Carlos, bronze medal in the 500 meters at the Lima 2025 Bolivarian Games. Wilmary Toro, silver medalist in the 1000 meters and bronze in the 500 meters in the Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games. Sayimar Lascaro, triple gold medalist at the 2024 Eastern National Sports Games and who also reached 16th place in the 2025 World Skating Championship held in China.
