Last Tuesday, the former president of Argentina, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, warned that the oral trial opened against her for the alleged existence of a network of bribes during her administration, related to public works, is vitiated by the malpractice of judges and prosecutors.

In her face-to-face investigative statement before the Federal Oral Court (TOF) No. 7 of Buenos Aires, the former president stated that “we are no longer faced with a question of political persecution based on ideology or a contrary government: we are immersed in mafia practices by judges and prosecutors”.

Likewise, among the irregularities she mentioned, “forum shopping” and the extortion of businessmen to obtain testimonies against her stand out, describing these actions as a higher stage of political persecution against her, compared to the first case in which she was convicted and for which she is serving house arrest, defined as “the emblematic cause of political persecution”.

In addition, Fernández directly pointed to prosecutor Carlos Stornelli and the late judge Claudio Bonadío, accusing them of acting under a criminal logic to support an accusation that designates her as the head of an illegal association.
