Argentine deputies approve increase in retirees despite Milei's refusal

The Argentine Chamber of Deputies approved this Wednesday an increase in retirees, the reinstatement of the social security moratorium and the national disability emergency.

With 142 affirmative votes, 67 against and 19 abstentions, legislators approved an increase of 7.2% for retirees, in addition to an update to the pension bond, which will now be around $92.

The extension of the pension moratorium, the system that allows people without 30 years of contributions, to buy the missing contributions and thus access a minimum retirement, has been opened.
