Army Military Academy accumulated 10 medals on the first day of fencing at the Inter-Academy Games

The Army Military Academy imposed its authority in the first days of fencing of the XXXVII Military Inter-Academy Games, with a harvest of 10 medals: 4 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze.

The second place in the standings is occupied by the Military Academy of the National Guard with 7 medals: 3 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze, and the Bolivarian Navy Academy is third with 1 gold, two silver and two bronzes, according to the press release of the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports.

The fighting takes place in the gymnasium of the Army Military Academy in Fort Tiuna, Caracas, where the host institution demonstrated its superiority by winning four gold medals, followed closely by the National Guard Academy with three titles and the Bolivarian Navy Academy with one.

In the men's individual sabre, the gold medal went to Julio Brizuela, the silver medal went to Moisés Romero and the bronze medal went to Wilmer González.

In the men's team sabre category, the Army Military Academy reaffirmed its dominance by winning the gold medal, relegating the National Guard Military Academy to second place. The bronze medal went to the Bolivarian Navy Academy.

The foil also brought a couple of golds to the Army in the individual combat won by Leomar Gudiño and by team through Gudiño himself and his teammates David Luzardo and Antoine Pérez.

In the women's team sword, the gold medal went to the National Guard Military Academy, the Bolivarian Navy Academy won silver and the Army Military Academy completed the podium in third position.

The National Guard also won another gold medal in individual sabre, thanks to the performance of Yitessa Quintero, who also won the team's gold medal with the help of Teresita Caraballo and María Suárez.

For her part, in the women's individual sword, the cadet of the Bolivarian Navy Academy, Anny Albase, won the gold medal. In second position, Maryury Mejía, from the Military Academy of the National Guard, was placed, while Gabby Machado, from the Military Aviation Academy, occupied the third position.
