The rector of the University of the Communes, Jorge Arreaza, reaffirmed the irrevocable commitment of the Venezuelan people to the defense of their sovereignty, while emphasizing their historical resistance to the aggression of North American imperialism.

During the National Enlistment Day, Arreaza emphasized that Venezuela is not going to bow to any empire,” and recognized the active participation of men and women who, from their communities, assemblies and committees, are preparing to take any necessary action in defense of the Republic.

“This people have been defending their right to be independent, to make decisions within their own bosom for more than 215 years, and today we see them here, enlisting with dignity and conviction,” he said.

Arreaza emphasized that this call is not addressed exclusively to the militants of the Bolivarian Revolution, but to all Venezuelans who are proud to wake up every day in the sacred territory of Simon Bolivar. “Here we are, like the armies of Zamora, ready to lay down our lives for our country,” he said.

Arreaza sent a message to the American people, urging them to mobilize against the war policies of the U.S. government affecting several countries.

“You are in the heart of the beast. If they take to the streets, they can stop the genocide, the war in Ukraine, the aggression against Haiti, world hunger and the threat against Venezuela,” he concluded.
