After a renovation of its spaces, the Art Network reopened its headquarters in the iconic La Torre building, in front of the Cathedral of Caracas, with the exhibition “Brushstrokes of Sound”.
According to information from the Ministry for Culture, the colorful exhibition pays tribute to the Venezuelan Cuatro through the vision of 23 outstanding visual artists, who captured their art in this national instrument.
The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Arts, Image and Space, Mary Pemjean, and the president of the Red Art Foundation, Aracelis García Reyes, who highlighted the importance of this initiative to promote art and the strengthening of Venezuelan cultural identity.
Deputy Minister Pemjean expressed her appreciation to the participating artists. “Congratulations to those who captured their creativity in our musical instrument, regarding its celebration this April 4th. This exhibition becomes a space for us to encounter that human warmth and to show the creations that the men and women of the town carry in their hands. Be the ones who take up the flag to continue conquering every space for Venezuelan popular culture, where boys and girls feel like they are part of spaces that will preserve our roots,” he said.
The artists who give life to “Sound Brushes” are: Zulay Mendoza, Eduardo Borandellis, Neglys Oropeza, Laura Pérez, Josefina Guerra, Raíza Lara, Hugo Mariño, Iván Guerrero, Yaumara Osorio, Guadalupe Sánchez, William Camposano, Víctor Rosales, Pablo Pérez, Verónica Maizo, Milagros Verenzuela, Karel Bermúdez, Lieselotte Citerio, Elizabeth Revet, Edgar Guerrero, Vicky Rojas, Rosa Maican, Enrico Armas and Aura Moreno.
The exhibition will be open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday until mid-May, offering a unique opportunity to celebrate the richness of Venezuela's cultural heritage and appreciate innovative artistic proposals inspired by the Cuatro.
