Aruba will extend the closure of its air border with Venezuela for an additional period of four months, according to reports from the Arubeno news portal 24Ora.

The Prime Minister, Mike Eman, announced this measure in response to concerns raised by the Kingdom of the Netherlands, given the current international situation. Eman stressed that Aruba cannot make decisions of this kind without considering the opinion of the Netherlands regarding international relations.

He emphasized that dialogue with the Dutch government remains open to determine the right time to reopen the air border with Venezuela, since the maritime border is already operational.

According to the prime minister, the Dutch embassy in Venezuela is not yet fully prepared to process visas, a prerequisite for the reopening of the air border.
