Various human rights organizations in El Salvador reported that at least 415 people have died in the custody of State Security agents in the context of the state of emergency, which has been in force in the Central American country for more than three years.
“We have seen more than 415 cases of people murdered at the hands of the State,” said Alejandro Díaz, of the human rights organization Tutela Legal 'María Julia Hernández', who explained that the figure is an estimate of NGOs based on the complaints of the cases.
According to the representative of the Legal Protection organization 'María Julia Hernández', the measure has become a security policy that has violated human rights in recent years.
