At least 68 Palestinians lost their lives on Sunday as a result of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, including 29 civilians who lost their lives while searching for food at humanitarian aid points, the Gazan Ministry of Health reported Monday.
According to the official balance sheet, 69 bodies were admitted to hospitals in the last 24 hours, although one of them was a victim recovered from the rubble whose death occurred days earlier, Telesur details.
To date, a total of 61,499 deaths in Gaza and 153,575 injured since the start of the Israeli offensive, which has lasted almost two years.
The Ministry of Health blames the shortage of fuel, the lack of spare parts and resources to repair ambulances, and the absence of heavy machinery to rescue people trapped under the rubble as factors that hinder medical care and rescue.
It also points out that wounded and displaced persons are attacked even in the immediate vicinity of aid distribution points, which aggravates the humanitarian crisis.
