Venezuelan billiard player Jesús Atencio won the runner-up in the US Open 10 Ball Championship open tournament, which was held in Las Vegas, United States. The athlete yielded in a close final, which was decided by small details, 13 rounds to 11 against local world champion Shane Van Boening.

In this way, Jesús Atencio becomes the first Venezuelan 10 Ball Billiard athlete to reach the runner-up in the specialty, according to a press release from the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports.
