The Attorney General of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, highlighted the “enormous effort” that the Public Ministry (MP) has made to protect children and adolescents from bullying, a scourge that has been enhanced by the misuse of social networks.
During a day of the Public Ministry Visit Your Community, which was held at the Fabricio Ojeda Endogenous Nucleus of the Sucre parish in Caracas, Saab detailed the negative consequences of bullying and assured that these must be prevented and punished before the courts, to avoid suicides, school disappointment and depression.
In this regard, the MP has carried out nearly 3,000 training events in schools, aimed at educating children and adolescents about the seriousness that bullying represents is a serious offence.
Saab said that 115,816 people have been educated in the new way of living together. “We have also acted to punish this scourge, so far we have charged 341 young adolescents with criminal responsibility and also adults who could be principals and teachers who do not object to the action of harassment against the victim, 341 defendants and 284 defendants,” he said at a press conference.
