The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, leads a working session with national and international authorities to coordinate the phases of the plan for the removal and removal of debris in the state of La Guaira.
The meeting is attended by the sectoral vice-president of Public Works and Services, Juan José Ramírez, the Sectorial Administrative and Digital Government vice-president, Anabel Pereira Fernández, and the president of the Commission for the Evaluation of Infrastructure Habitability and Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Francisco Garcés.
In addition, the meeting has international technical support through the presence of the Israeli ambassador, Ghassan Tarif, and Elad Edry, a member of that Nation's Technical Commission, with the purpose of optimizing institutional logistics protocols prior to deployment in affected areas.
The technical evaluations of the day are based on a diagnosis developed together with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), which estimates the total volume of material waste generated in the coastal region at 1 million 25 thousand tons.
Of this total, nearly 900,000 tons belong to collapsed concrete and steel structures, while the remaining margin corresponds to household goods and appliances of the affected families. The strategy contemplates the use of controlled demolition mechanisms and the technical and safe processing of waste, aimed at rehabilitating urban spaces, ensuring the protection of local communities.
