The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, said that during the Carnavales Seguros 2025 operation, 2,578 traffic violations were registered, of which 1,606 were committed by motorized vehicles.

In this regard, it was known that this number represents 50% of violations, so he called on motorcycle drivers to drive wisely.

Saab noted that in the last four years, road accidents involving motorcycles have increased from 14 percent to 40 percent and added that in the vacation that just ended, 674 traffic violations were committed by car drivers, while motorized vehicles almost tripled the number.

He specified that the offenders were taken to the road classroom where they were given a talk on awareness and road safety.

Due to the alarming numbers, the prosecutor instructed the Directorate against Road Crimes to proceed to “massively expand road classrooms across the country”, which he believes will have a positive impact on the minds of offenders.

Finally, he said that 155 traffic accidents were prosecuted nationwide, which resulted in 26 deaths and 101 injuries.
