The Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) announced the injection of a significant amount of foreign currency into the national banking system in order to accompany the dynamization of the economy in its various fields.
The BCV reported the placement of “1,350 million dollars in exchange rate intervention during the month of May,” according to a press release from Radio Miraflores.
This figure far exceeds the issuer's supply and injection of foreign exchange, exceeding $1 billion for the third consecutive month.
The Central Bank of Venezuela has good prospects with regard to exchange stability in the country. At least this is clear from the statement made by the president in charge of the BCV, Luis Alberto Pérez González, during a meeting with representatives of public and private banks, in which he reaffirmed a positive projection of a new period of exchange rate stability and a decline in inflation in the country.
Representatives of the Venezuelan Banking Association, Sudeban and the Vice Ministry of Digital Economy, Banking, Insurance and Securities also participated in that meeting
The injection of foreign currency into the national banking system will allow Venezuelans to access the purchase and sale of currencies with a wide market in their supply of foreign currency. This will then translate into dynamization.
In addition, the BCV director expressed his reasons for the country's positive outlook in the medium term: “There are reasons to think that the national economy will do well in the coming quarters and that inflation will fall.”
