“The Bolivarian Revolution has as its fundamental part of its very existence the unity of peoples and the Diplomacy of the Peoples is a legacy of Father Bolivar, and of our Commander Chávez,” said this Saturday the Venezuelan deputy, Blanca Eekhout, who is present with a national delegation on the second day of the BRICS Popular Council, as part of the agenda towards the summit of Heads of States and of Government that takes place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

“So we feel and are part of that world that pushed the existence of peoples in our America, at the perhaps darkest moment of neoliberalism, when the end of history, the last man, the single thought and the death of all the owners of utopia was proclaimed, where that cry, particularly in Venezuela, the Caracazo, the fight against neoliberalism, against the International Monetary Fund (IMF), gave way to that, just at the beginning of the 21st century and At the end of the 20th century, a revolution will rise that accompanied the cry of the peoples”.

The also president of the Simon Bolivar Institute (ISB), an entity attached to the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, informed TeleSUR that Venezuela has assumed as its fundamental task the defense of humanity, the unity of peoples and the Revolution.

During the activity, held this weekend, a tribute was paid to the popular movements and organizations of Venezuela, a gesture that was thanked by the deputy, who is also president of the Commission of Communes of the National Assembly (AN).

The parliamentarian confirmed that, on this global stage, Venezuela and the peoples of the region are in the same fight.

“We are one and the same people. For us, there is no difference between the struggle of the Mapuche people and the struggle of the Venezuelan people, between the struggle of the Argentine people, who today demand the right to live in democracy, and the struggle of the Colombian people, precisely to defend the existence of that democracy.”

Likewise, Eekhout stated that Venezuelans build their model of participatory and leading democracy and considered that, at this moment, peoples must meet and design a common strategy to face the barbarism of the imperial claim, once again, to establish a unipolar world, the claim of a single thought and of a hegemony that is the imperialist dictatorship over humanity.

The Venezuelan delegation is participating in this Popular Council where, in an unprecedented event, popular movements will have an official space to present their agendas directly to the heads of state of the bloc. This initiative will take place this Sunday, 6th in Rio de Janeiro, during the plenary session of the summit to be held under the Brazilian presidency of the group in 2025, TeleSUR reported.
