The Bolivarian Government began this Saturday the comprehensive rehabilitation of the rolling road on the Petare-Guarenas National Highway, specifically at the height of the El Rayado sector, in the Caucaguita parish of the Sucre municipality.
The deployment was directly supervised by the Minister of People's Power for Transportation, Jaqueline Fanía, and the governor of Miranda state, Elio Serrano, who highlighted the impact that this intervention will have on connectivity between the Plaza and Sucre municipalities.
The work involves the initial installation of more than 2,000 tons of asphalt on this road section. In addition, Fanía reported that the Ministry of Transportation approved the shipment of 15,000 tons of asphalt for the entire state of Miranda, of which an additional 2,000 will be destined to complete the comprehensive recovery of the Caucaguita parish.
Fanía pointed out that in the national paving balance sheet, Miranda ranks third in attention. “The state of Miranda is in third place for asphalt installation in the entire country; first we have Zulia, then Guárico and then Miranda,” he said.
In addition to asphalting, he indicated that the plan includes cleaning of ditches and streams, river dredging, care for residential water canals and adaptation of road channels. At the same time, Fanía highlighted that the communes of the area actively participated in identifying the main critical points of the road.
The work front is being carried out in parallel with other road works in Greater Caracas, including the intervention of the Cota Mil, the recovery of the southern runway of El Junquito and the rehabilitation of the Valle-Coche highway. The start of the work was accompanied by a social day with free medical care, legal advice and recreational activities for children and young people in the community.
