The Bolivarian Government of the Bolivarian State of Bolívar activated the General Staff of the Rains 2026 with the objective of strengthening surveillance and response capacity to possible emergencies resulting from rainfall and increased river levels in the state.

In this regard, Governor Yulisbeth García reported that the plan will be operational in all 11 municipalities of the state and includes immediate attention to contingencies that may occur, as well as the permanent monitoring of vulnerable areas during the rainy season.

He also indicated that for the execution of these actions, a team composed of members of the Bolivarian National Guard, the Bolivarian National Police, state and municipal police forces, firefighters and civil protection officers was deployed, who will work in a coordinated manner under the National Risk Management System.

García noted that the state is currently under the influence of tropical wave number eight and warned of the upcoming arrival of tropical wave number nine, so he called for vigilance throughout the territory.

According to projections from the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMEH), between 55 and 60 tropical waves could pass through the country during the season, keeping the authorities responsible for risk prevention and care on alert.
