Bolivarian Government advances in agricultural production and agri-food sovereignty

The ministers of the People's Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Vladímir Padrino López, and the head of Food, Carlos Tellería, led a meeting with representatives of the livestock and vegetable sector, to advance the strengthening of agricultural production and agri-food sovereignty.

The day was attended by producers of coffee, cacao, sugar cane, soybeans, sunflower, palm oil, caraotas, beans, roots and tubers; vegetables, corn, rice, sorghum, avocado, strawberry, milkweed, patilla, parchita, pineapple, cambur, plantain and conuco, Venezolana de Televisión reported on its website.

In addition, representatives of the cattle, buffalo, pig, sheep and goat and poultry sectors participated, according to a press release from the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands.

At the meeting, which took place at the National Land Institute (INTI), a direct dialogue was held with producers, in which the holder of the agricultural portfolio recognized the commitment and contribution of the productive sectors to the country's economic recovery.

“Production in the fields reflects their efforts (...) we reaffirm that our main task is to produce our own food,” said Padrino López.

The Minister of Productive Agriculture and Lands reiterated the call of the President in charge of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, to move forward, in national union, in the diversified economic model towards the path of growth in order to see the Fatherland of Father Liberator Simón Bolívar flourish.
