Bolivarian Government announces plan to strengthen services in health centers

Juan José Ramírez, the sector vice-president of Public Works and Services, reported that the inter-institutional team defined a plan to strengthen water, energy and ventilation systems in health centers in the country.

He explained that the proposals will be submitted for review and subsequent execution, with priority given to establishments that require the restoration of basic services to keep their areas operational.

Ramírez indicated that the meeting made it possible to specify the centers that need immediate intervention in terms of water supply, electrical stability and the operation of ventilation systems in critical spaces. He stated that the objective is to ensure adequate conditions for the care and continuous operation of each care unit.

For her part, the Minister of Health, Dr. Nuramy Gutiérrez, explained that hospitals require roof waterproofing, regular drinking water supply, elevator operation, wastewater disposal and electrical backup.

He explained that these needs were evaluated together with the ministers present to define priorities in the main centers of the country. He indicated that the plan will begin in Caracas, where hospitals with the largest capacity are concentrated, and he said that progress is expected to be announced once the first phases of recovery are completed.
