The Bolivarian Government, through the Ministry of Transportation, the Government of Falcón State and Civil Protection, carries out the cleaning, removal of vegetation layer and maintenance in the Coro River channel, specifically in the area of Los Olivos (Colina municipality).

According to information published on the web portal of the newspaper Úlmas Noticias, the regional director of the Ministry of Transport, Henry Atacho, stressed that within the framework of the rainy season, such preventive work is being carried out to reduce vulnerability to rainfall.

“In this effort, the National Directorate of Pipeline and the Government collaborate through the program Together for Falcón, together with the support of Civil Protection (...) with the objective of improving hydraulic capacity along 500 meters both on the north and south sides of the riverbed.”

He also highlighted the use of heavy machinery, including a jumbo and a backhoe, to optimize plumbing work.

“The main objective is to increase the river's flow capacity to prevent possible emergencies during these next rainy periods, both in vehicle traffic, because the bridge connects to two sectors, as well as to homes that are in nearby communities,” he said.
