Bolivarian Government celebrates 53 years of relations between Qatar and Venezuela

The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, on behalf of the Bolivarian Government, sent a greeting “to the government of Qatar on the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our nations”.

The foreign minister added “this link, which was strengthened during the term of Commander Hugo Chávez and the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro, has consolidated strategic cooperation in key areas such as energy and investment, generating mutual benefits for both countries.”

Caracas and Doha established diplomatic relations on May 24, 1973, and were later reinforced by President Hugo Chávez starting in 1999. Today, the parties maintain close cooperation ties in strategic areas, ranging from agriculture to investment.
