As part of the strategic actions carried out by the Sectorial Vice Presidency of Public Works and Services (VSOPS), through the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC), the installation of key electrical infrastructure was completed in the Agroecological Tourism District “El Gran Topo”, located in the Caracas-La Guaira Road Corridor.
The fundamental purpose of this work is to strengthen the energy supply in this important productive axis, in order to guarantee the stability of the service for the development of the area, the Ministry of People's Power for Electric Energy (MPPEE) reported on its website.
The technical deployment included the optimization of the electrical system in the communities that make up the “Colina Bella” Community Council, through the installation of: Infrastructure: 55 new poles and 45 luminaires with 200 W LED technology; Transformers: Six devices with capacities of 25 kVA, 50 kVA and 100 kVA, as well as Social Impact: Direct benefit for 285 inhabitants of the sector.
During a day of work to show the advances in this communal axis, Minister Márquez highlighted the work mystique of multidisciplinary teams.
“We are here to serve each one of you, our president Nicolás Maduro, as I have always said, gave us this mission and we have to carry it forward,” he said.
For her part, the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, stressed the importance of community organization in calling on the inhabitants of the 18 socialist communes to participate this Sunday, March 8, in the National Popular Consultation, in order to approve new comprehensive development projects.
“The People are empowered, alongside their Government at different scales, to solve problems. These are solutions,” Meléndez said.
The “El Gran Topo” Commune is consolidated as a reference for popular organization, bringing together the Community Councils: La Peña de Zamora, Colina Bella, Taparitas, La Rampa, Cerro Negro, El Topo and El Paují del Topo.
This electrical consolidation continues the visit made in November 2025 by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, who promoted diversified food production in the area, including activities in pig farming, aquaculture, and chicken and goat breeding.
With these actions, the Bolivarian Government and the organized Popular Power establish joint lines of work every week to provide timely solutions in the social and productive areas of this strategic corridor.
