In an official statement, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela strongly condemned the attack of the Zionist government of Israel against Palestinian citizens in Gaza.

The statement deplores the massacre of at least 104 civilians while waiting for the delivery of humanitarian aid, north of the enclave.

In the letter, the national Government reiterated its “urgent call” to the international community and international organizations, based on the moral, legal and humanitarian responsibilities of States, to put an end to Israel's flagrant arbitrariness and its violation of international laws and conventions.

Below is the full statement:

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela strongly condemns Israel's lethal attack on Palestinian citizens in Gaza, which massacred at least 104 civilians, on February 29, 2024, while waiting for the supply of humanitarian aid, to the north of the enclave.

This abominable fact is added to the continuous inhumane actions and extermination against innocent and defenceless civilians that have occurred since the beginning of the escalation of violence on October 7, 2023; until now, with the absolute impunity of the Israeli government.

Once again, before the international community, we denounce the systematic practice of annihilation and genocide carried out by Zionist forces against the people of Palestine in the territory of the Gaza Strip.

Venezuela reiterates its urgent call to the international community and international organizations, based on the moral, legal and humanitarian responsibilities of States, to put an end to the flagrant arbitrariness on the part of Israel and its violation of international laws and conventions and the prevailing need to stop the continuing war crimes against the Palestinian people, who, almost five months after the conflict, amount to more than 30,000 deaths.

We express our willingness to continue supporting initiatives and efforts that contribute to the search for a comprehensive, just and lasting peace solution to the Palestinian question; that considers the withdrawal of Israel from the occupied Palestinian territories based on the 1967 borders; and that allows the establishment of an independent Palestinian State, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
