The Minister of Popular Power for Ecosocialism, Freddy Ñáñez, reported that the forest fire that occurred this Monday in the Protected Zone of Los Teques, in the immediate vicinity of the National Center for Military Prosecutors, was controlled.

The fire started around 6:00pm and was extinguished at 10:00pm, after the activation of environmental protection protocols. The Condor 1 Rescue Group and Civil Protection teams from Guaicaipura and Carrizal participated in the operations.

The event affected medium and tall vegetation, with an increase in the treetops that reached the pine trees and generated explosions due to temperatures, which increased the complexity of control operations.

Authorities are maintaining vigilance in the area to prevent reactivations. The Ministry of Ecosocialism reiterated the call to avoid practices that cause harm to the environment and recalled that any sign of fire must be reported through the 0800-AMBIENT number, as part of the system of civilian-military cooperation for the protection of the environment, Radio Miraflores reported.
